Customer Review: TORI S REVIEW REFLECTS JEALOUSY
I have been a fan of Mistress Cristian for a decade now and have viewed her via diaries, blogs, media etc...I was shocked to see that one of her fired submissives from her New Jersey Dungeon, who goes by the name of Tori(she shows her pic in her profile), would even take the time out to write a review on something she probably didnt even read. But as the old saying goes... publicity is good, regardless.' Jealousy breeds an ugly disposition! And if I'm not mistaken I would think that she is the lowly character in the book referred to as 'Gimpa.' I've emailed Mistress Cristian to inform her of this , but her celebrity status has had her on many talk shows , such as Montel Williams last week and I do not expect her to return my message until she has settled.
Customer Review: A Life as A String of Non Sequiturs
I was impressed by the previews and description of the book as a woman leading a double life. As a woman who practices professional discipline, I was interested to peek into the life of someone else who may have felt the stress of that lifestyle. Sadly, Mistress Cristian's story left me high and dry.
The short chapter book simply lists strings of stories with little to no connection between anecdotes. While there was an effort made to establish who the author was and where her interests came from, there was very little meat in between to produce a full-fleshed story. There is even an instance of a chronological gap, where she describes herself as a single mother who eventually married and had a daughter, yet there is practically nothing that leads the reader to that point.
Throughout the short volume, things come into being for Mistress Cristian with very little background. Her rise to fame is chronicled in a few short paragraphs [rather fast for a 'Celebrity Dominatrix'], and what reference to her domestic end was limited to her attachment to her Crock-Pot and unrelated anecdotes regarding her child.
This is a first draft that was released prematurely. There is so much that could have been further elaborated on, and so many missed opportunities to produce a complete story.
If you have an interest in the ins and outs of female domination, I strongly suggest the works of Claudia Varrin and Lady Green. While I will always respect and admire women who put their personal take on the S/M world, Mistress Cristian's voice needs more time to develop.
